I’m back in Portland and already missing the islands, but am so grateful to have had the experience I did.  After spending an entire day wrestling with Flickr, my photos are all finally up and can be seen here:

Going home

It’s a long trek home, about 26 hrs total in traveling: Denpasar —> Seoul —> Tokyo —> LA —> Portland. In some ways though it feels good to have the journey be staggered and in segments. I feel like I’ve done so much, seen so much and have experienced such different trips with each part of Bali I explored, it would be shocking if the return to Portland could be done in one swift leg.

In the Tokyo airport right now and want to buy everything. Maybe this winter a Hokkaido snowboard trip would be worth planning?? 

Last Leg

It’s the last leg of my trip and I’m back on the Bali island in Nusa Dua now. Gili Trawangan was like an adults summer camp paradise and I got to live out my long time dream of swimming beside giant sea turtles. I didn’t think I could like another place as much as the Gilis, but Nusa Dusa is beyond beautiful and just, pure serenity. It’s a good way to end, kind of luxuriating and enjoying all the modern comforts of the Westin and the Regis spa before I start my 22 hours of traveling home to the PNW tomorrow.
